Barbara in Caneyland, Did You Know, and Cat Fun Facts!

Hi everyone, today we continue the ninth leg of Salem’s Daughters’ Blog Tour at Barbara Barbara in Caneyland. For a full itinerary of my blog tour Click Here or simply select the self-named TAB at the top.

Salem’s Daughters These bad kitties are an inspiration for all Bad Girls of the Bible

Did You Know All cats are good natural hunters, even domesticated house cats. But are they too good? Free-ranging cats, domesticated cats who spend a lot of their time outside, have contributed to the extinction of 33 different species, including birds, mammals, and reptiles. They are actually listed among the top 100 most invasive species.

Fun Facts Neutered female cats are the main culprits who bring their humans dead mice and birds and such. Since they do not have offspring, it’s believed their instinct is to bring their family, humans, food. So the next time your cats brings you a dead animal understand they are merely trying to provide for their family. You.

Who Am I My name is Stephen Tremp and I write speculative fiction. My fourth novel, Salem’s Daughters, is supernatural thriller.

Short Blurb A four hundred year old evil is unleashed when souls of the daughters of those killed during the Salem Witch Trials find a new generation of people to murder at a popular modern-day bed and breakfast.

  1. I've had cats bring me dead gifts before. The feral cats outside my house kill so many animals.

  2. Just so long as they don't bring live ones. The cat we had when I was a kid brought a live mouse in the house once. My mom threw a fit as it took a while to find it.

  3. Our cat Tiger was always bringing us dead mice and rats. He even brought us a hummingbird and a hawk once. (The hawk was impressive - almost as big as Tiger and there wasn't a mark on our cat.)

  4. Wow, reading the comments above; would have loved to see the hawk brought by the cat! We do have a neighbor's cat that free roams and I've seen it with a lizard in its mouth and a bird. Welcome gifts I'm sure for its owner :)

  5. I heard cats bring you dead animals because they think humans suck at hunting and are trying to show us how to do it.

  6. Interesting...so females think hunting and bringing us dead things make up for not having kittens? I think it's revenge for neutering them!

  7. Yes, I knew that about cats. Although it is years since I shared a home with one. Saw a fascinating programme on Public TV last night about pets and their behaviours. There was a lot about cats and why they do what they do.

  8. I learned quite a bit here today. Thanks! I had no idea what the reason for the dead mice etc. was from female cats who have been neutered. :)
